Sana Dialog 2023

On 11. and The annual event of the Sana Purchasing Association, the Sana Dialog, took place on September 12 at the Estrel Hotel Berlin. Speakers from the worlds of science, industry and hospitals with very different backgrounds discussed current issues in the healthcare system. A number of Swiss partners from industry and partner hospitals were also present at the Sana Dialog. We would like to give you a brief insight into the topics presented.

Even if digitalization has not yet progressed sufficiently in many areas of the healthcare system, current technological trends must not be missed. Artificial intelligence (AI) is on everyone’s lips, including at the Sana Dialog. How can this technology have a positive impact on the healthcare system, especially on hospitals? There was a consensus that such new technologies should be available as open source and should not be controlled by individuals. Time should be taken to find possible applications for such new technologies.

Everyone should be familiar with the term “Generation Z” by now. We are living in a time of constant demographic change and this leads to challenges and conflicts. For the new generation, work must be meaningful and fulfilling. In the meantime, boring and dull work can be taken over by various technical possibilities. The aim should be for work to be perceived as meaningful and fulfilling by all generations.

A look at Germany shows that a new hospital reform is due to come into force at the beginning of 2024. The reform was hotly debated. The conclusion from the discussions: There is no spirit of optimism, but rather helplessness.

Globalization is progressing steadily. We have to get away from the idea that the best hospital purchaser is the one who knows every single product. What is needed is a talent for anticipation in order to shape the procurement markets.

The dialog format was lived and it was shown how thoughts mature. It has never been as important as it is today to rediscover the format of open-ended dialog.

We look forward to the next dialog with you on 16-17.09.2024 in Frankfurt.

We are happy to answer any questions you may have
